ICCS is seeking to recruit an experienced public sector professional with a current CPA designation to join its Board of Directors. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your financial expertise, governance experience, and public sector knowledge to help guide the organization's long-term success.

The successful candidate will play an important role in strengthening the Board's financial oversight and supporting sound governance practices while working collaboratively with fellow directors and senior leadership.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A current CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation.
  • Significant experience in senior financial leadership roles.
  • Experience working within the public sector and/or publicly funded organizations.
  • A strong understanding of corporate governance, financial stewardship, risk management, and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Previous experience serving on a board of directors or board committee, which is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities of this Board Member Position:

  • Review and provide oversight of financial statements, budgets, audit reports, and other key financial information.
  • Serve as an active member of the Finance and Legal Committee.
  • Support the Board in fulfilling its fiduciary responsibilities by promoting sound governance, accountability, transparency, and effective risk management.
  • Contribute actively to Board discussions, strategic planning initiatives, and organizational decision-making.

Board Commitment:

The Board of Directors meets approximately six times per year. In addition to Board meetings, the successful candidate will serve on the Finance and Legal Committee, which meets approximately twice per year. From time to time, the candidate may also be invited to participate in strategic planning sessions.

A board member appointed to this position will receive an honorarium of $500 per meeting in recognition of the professional expertise they bring to the role.
